E100 Challenge – Deepening Growth in Faith

bible

Within weeks of St. Paul’s Bloor Street Anglican Church in Toronto beginning the E100 Challenge, some 400 copies of the Reading Plan had been taken by parishioners – tucked into Bibles – placed on night stands – daily picked up from Blackberries or iPhones.  Phenomenal uptake – but was it engaging and deepening their growth in faith?

Stories flooded in: Bible reading first timers were experiencing a tangible and deeper relationship with God. Others were finding their understanding of God challenged, coming to a more faithful knowledge of His character, and having their hearts shaped for worship. An unbelieving spouse agreed to join his wife in nightly Bible reading. A nurse took the E100 Challenge to her colleagues – meeting during shift breaks to encourage each other and share what they were learning. Tim Haughton, Pastor of Discipleship, says, “We heard God’s call to go deeper and found the E100 Challenge to be the perfect way for our community, at various stages of spiritual growth, to engage the Bible. God’s Word is moving hearts, transforming lives, drawing people to Himself – deepening us for mission in our city.”
